Dear Sirs

I am a true fan of Mitsubishi Cars. I live in Canada and in Russia, in both countries I do have the cars of your company.

In Moscow, Russia I bought two cars from ROLF Diamant, a Mitsubishi official dealer. I have Outlander 2004 (VIN ***) and Colt 2005 (VIN ***), love both of them.

I use Outlander more, it has 76,000 km. now, Colt has 29,000 km. This winter was very cold in Moscow, Russia and I noticed that the robotic gearbox sometimes doesn't switch the reverse gear. I called ROLF Diamant in Moscow, where I service both cars, explained the problem and Olga Gordienko, their representative confirmed that this is a known issue in Colts of the 2005 production year and it shows more in cold conditions and normally ROLF Diamant will repair the car for free if it has still the warranty period. Mine warranty has expired and due to the fact that I use my Colt less frequent, and mostly during warm summer months I was unable to determine there was an issue with the robotic gearbox during the 3 year warranty period.

Now Rolf offers me to fix that issue and to pay them a considerable sum (around 800 USD). They say that the producer, Mitsubishi Motors, will refuse to cover the expence to fix the known deffect of Mitsubishi outside the warranty period. I personally think that this is not true, and makes no sense! I firmly believe that if Mitsubishi company or it's dealers know of a deffect, they should be responsible and replace the parts or fix it for free no matter if the warranty has expired or not. In Canada you would normally recall all the cars because of the known deffect caused by the manufacturer, I think it should be done in Russia too and everywhere you do business. Please confirm this.

Also, I need your help to get ROLF Diamant fix my Colt for free (as it is your company's known fault that the robotic gearbox is malfunctioning!) I am driving it now, but the ROLF DiAMANT mechanics told me that any time the gearbox can stop functioning properly, I think this is a safety issue too, because it can potentially cause an accident. Should this happen, I would certainly sue the Mitsubishi dealer in Russia, and because I am your customer and resident in Canada I will sue Mitsubishi Motors in Canada too.
