Letter to Nunavut

I am wondering, can you do international affairs by yourself, I mean without full Canadian government control? Or maybe with Сanadian government support?

You know, first nations are generally well known on other continents, but seldom anyone knows the diversity of the tribes in Americas. Nunavut being the first territory up north is unique, because in Eurasia there are peoples quite similar to your historical lifestyles and traditions. Those live in Russia's north. On the lands that are rich in oil and gas. The thing is, the poverty is much higher there, those can be seen as your very close neighbours, they are just across the ocean from you. I think now is the time for action. It's volatile time in international politics around Russia, the oil prices are on decline, the media space is open for suprising initiatives. It is necessary to 1. Ask Canadian government to participate in a special fund to support the development of the territiries where people similar to you in similar conditions live. 2. Organise the trip to those territories, the cultural exchange. 3. Draw attention to similar problems which exist here and there.

I also think that charities should be established that would draw attention that the life is harsher in the north, compared to the south. Now there are tons of charities that help Africa, and they lack mostly water. It is possible to show easily that up north people are in much harsher circumstances. Also, this could be the first international experience which would draw attention and would promote Nunavut internationally. By solving your cross the ocean neighbour`s problems of their small nationalities coping with living up north, you should definitely have a platform to improve your peoples lives and would gain experience in negotiating the redistribution of the natural riches. I would be glad to further discuss this with you should you be interested. Now is the time to act! Think about the Arctic Union

  1. Letter to NDP Nunavut:

    Hello!

I think, being a new territory aiming on the ability to have imput on the decisions you are making with the aim to involve as many people as possible to improve the quality of the decisions and allow your people's dreams to fulfill while keeping all the best things associated witth your history and unique lifestyles, you HAVE THE CHANCE to advance further in the world of Democracy by embracing the idea of Electronic Democratic Advice Framework. That is, to develop your program of involving people into decision making by promoting the use of Electronic Discussion Platforms. Imagine you can make the key component of your election campaign to establish the Internet Hub (dedicated elaborate web site) where the process of establishing development agenda, its discussion, formulation of strategies and supporting decisions should be transparent, in real time - everyone would have the ability to come to the site, see your proposals and discussions and ADVICE improvements, share concerns, show support. This should be the next level of Democracy enriched by broad people's involvement, it would allow to produce the decisions of much enhanced quality and level of support from your followers, with instant feedback and an array of further proposals. I am sure this idea could make you the pioneer of Electronic Democracy with Broad People's Involvement and Advice not just among your present rivals, but on the International scale. It is easy to predict that once the first Party, and I wish it should be your NDP party, to promise and fulfill such Transparent Electronic Initiative, all others would follow. In our age of technological advance in communication systems we have all the necessary tools to build such electronic system that will connect people on important issues, make it easy to provide their input into decision making process, account for popular support of the initiatives on-line, store the relevant discussions in electornic memory for easy references and credibility. This can be a real breakthrough for the Democratic World. Once the unified platform would be established wich would connect all the parties involved in the election process, it should be fair to expect the electronic registrations of all the voters on-line, the ability for the voters to see in real time how their proposals are implemented, real time vote transfers, more competition in terms of quality of people's opinions integration in their programs between the Parties. I hope you can make this huge step towards social development and thus would contribute to the History of Democracy. Who else is capable of such brave, honest and transparent initiative? I believe Nunavut can be the first to embrace it! Good luck!
